PEOPLE HAVE THE CHURCH MESSED UP.

Somewhere along the way, folks decided the Black church was supposed to be quiet. Docile. A place to shout on Sunday and stay silent everywhere else. 

They forgot who we are.

The Black church was never meant to be a spectator in the face of oppression — it was built in the belly of the beast as a war room for the oppressed. It marched. It organized. It registered voters with one hand and prayed with the other. It has ALWAYS understood that faith without action toward justice is just noise. 

So let's be clear:

We are ANOINTED in the midst of authoritarianism.
